The Contract
All Clients Must Fulfill a Contract.

Once a client is accepted into the Diversion Program, that client is given a contract to fulfill by our Review Board.

Fulfillment of the contract is the only way in which a client can successfully complete the program.

What Might My Contract Include?
A Diversion may contain:

  • A letter of apology to the victim, if applicable.
Restitution (money paid back for damage done or property not returned) to the victim.
  • Community service work with a specified number of hours performed at a non-profit agency.
  • Some contracts may also include a written essay, research paper, special project or participation in an educational or treatment program.

Failure to successfully complete a contract will result in notification to the State's Attorney and charges will resume in court. At this point, the offender will be required to resolve his/her case in court.
