What Will be Expected of Me?
To start the Diversion process, you will have to schedule an intake interview with one of our caseworkers. The caseworker will explain the Diversion process to you and ask you to discuss your offense. At the end of the meeting, you will schedule a time to sit before the Review Board.

The Review Board, which consists of 4-8 community volunteers, will review your case first, then ask you to discuss your offense. Afterward, the Review Board decides whether to accept the case into the Diversion Program.

If the case is accepted, the Review Board will offer you a contract. The contract is a written agreement between you and the Diversion Program, stating that certain tasks will be fulfilled within specific deadlines in exchange for a dismissal of the offense by the State’s Attorney.
