CRJ Welcomes New Street Checker
We are pleased to welcome Matt Willey as our newest member of the CRJ team. Matt comes to CRJ after having served as a residential coordinator for several years at Bennington School, Inc. Matt brings over 6 years of experience working with at-risk youth. In addition to supervising youth on probation, Matt hopes to incorporate his love of sports and the outdoors into some new and exciting groups over the next few months. Welcome Matt!
Heading back to school can be costly. To help young people heading back to school this fall, CRJ is hosting a school supply drive. Anyone wishing to donate supplies can stop by CRJ anytime during our normal business hours.
People’s United Bank and Catamount Partnership have awarded grants to CRJ to expand our working mentoring youth. CRJ’s mentoring project will identify teens involved in one of the agency’s programs (Court Diversion, Juvenile Restorative Probation Program, Teen Alcohol Safety Program, Pre-Charge Program or Kids are Our Strength/Truancy Project) and provide one to one mentoring opportunities.
CRJ feels that positive one-on-one mentoring relationships are critical for at –risk teens. It is our hope that these mentoring relationships will provide the support the teen needs to be successful. It is well known that a positive adult influence in a teen’s life is vital to their development and wellbeing; we are grateful to have the support from Catamount Partnership and People’s United Bank to make these critical relationships a reality.
